Hi, I am Carin Faith of Faith and Quinn! It has always been a dream of mine to open a shop filled with beautiful, quality fabrics along with other curated treasures. I majored in Fashion Merchandising in college and worked for over 30 years in the Fashion and Retail industry and now I am excited to start this new adventure with my daughter, Madison Quinn.
Sewing and quilting has been handed down for many generations on my mom’s side. As a little girl, I made clothes and home décor for my Barbie with leftover fabric scraps my mom gave me. Growing up, my mom sewed many of my dresses (including the one in the photo above) and she gave me my first sewing machine when I was in college. My Grandmother and Great Grandmother used to sit on the sleeping porch of their house in the small town of Waldo, Florida, quilting on a wooden frame made by my Great Grandpa. That frame is still in our family today!Over the years I made my daughter dresses, bibs and blankets, along with curtains, pillows and anything else I could create with fabric. While my kids were in elementary school, a friend suggested we take a quilting class. I was intimidated at first, but quickly fell in love with the craft. Soon I found myself exploring a whole other world where I could create something original with the fabrics I collected and was able to share my creations with friends and family.
Hello there, my name is Madison Quinn of Faith and Quinn!
Both of my Grandmas sewed and did needlepoint. My Granny on my dad’s side had a tradition to make every Grandchild a specific quilt when they were born. My quilt is number 5 of 8. Granny somehow knew I would be an animal lover when I got older, especially chickens.
I found my own calling to sewing when my mom taught me how to make my own costumes. My fondest memory is having her design and sew my own Batman costume to wear in elementary school. While attending college, I used my sewing skills to make miniature clothes and props for my stop motion animation projects.
In Spring 2020, I graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelors in Intermedia Arts. I was unsure what I wanted to do when I graduated, I just knew I wanted to continue making pottery while living with my boyfriend and best friend. Now, I am helping my mother run Faith & Quinn as her social media and marketing assistant. Of course, I still make my own ceramic and illustration artwork!
With Faith and Quinn, it is our hope we can share our love of sewing with you and your families!
